Love. Always.

This entry is so not about my outfit today because once again, I was late. And I was rushing hence, my mother's comment as I left the house: "Why are you wearing slippers?" And I think that sums up what I wore today, not much effort really and kind of not for office wear. But I did bring a neutral cardigan just in case. But yes, I'm still wearing purple slippers.

Anyway, this entry is to celebrate the first ever gadget that I bought for myself. "The first of many" said one of my dearest friends. We'll have to see about that as I'd really like to get out of personal "debt" soon and start saving again. LOL. My new toy isn't exactly new for most as I got myself a red 1GB Ipod Shuffle. :D Finally though as I've been wanting to get a purple one ever since the purple one came out. And I think the Shuffle has actually made my birthday and Christmas wish list - twice. Which just proves how it's been a long time coming. And so I present (I still don't have pictures though) - love. always. :D My personalized with engraving little red Ipod Shuffle which I have already filled to its maximum capacity with songs on my current playlist. I still have to add one more song later as I forgot about it when it's quite crucial these days - Til I Hear It From You by Gin Blossoms. Figures. Haha.

So how's it going so far with love. always.? Well, it's playing along quite well just like my sister's pink Shuffle. She'll probably be really happy later once I finally, finally return it to her. :D Why love. always. you may ask? It's simply because I get this really happy and positive vibe every single time I read the inscription. :) I really can't explain why but I just do. :D

Next up on my gadget list: hmm... an Ipod Touch? Iphone? Any phone to replace my current phones? Hmm.. I think there will be no gadget purchases any time in the near future. Summer's here and summer equals only one thing = beach. And every centavo that I can save should definitely go to that goal. :D

Summer Necklace and Bikini Cravings

They say that statement necklaces are in this season. Statement somehow meaning large and loud eye-catching necklaces. I have one in white and gold with crystals but I really don't wear it as it might get dirty quick. Instead I choose subtlety - four long small bead necklaces in different colors. Combined, that necklace became the key theme of today's outfit.

White, red, yellow, and green were the colors of the small beads. I paired it with a simple black tank top and pale green dress shorts. Plus my CLN white t-strap flat sandals and silver red drop earrings. My watch was my faded purple cuff watch again. I really need to replace the batteries of my other watches. Or buy a new classic one. LOL. Replace more probably than buy since I really want a new bikini or two. Haha. There's this classic pink bikini at Speedo that I really like for its simplicity. But there's also this watercolor print bikini at Freeway for half the price. But I still have this black string bikini from Maldita that I bought on sale last year that I still haven't worn. Hmm.. Maybe I should just buy the pink top from Speedo since those are sold as separates anyway. And I can use that top with my other bottoms. Hmm.. Sounds like a great idea! Haha. Let me just compute yet again. :D

Now, I've gone off topic from my daily outfit... I also saw this cute apricot dress at Plains and Prints which I really, really like. It'll be perfect if only it can be reused in the office or in meetings so that at least it will have some other purpose aside from looking cute. But I think it can be used in the office. In my office anyway. LOL. Anyway for the nth time, I think I've gone super off topic here so I'll just stop. But before I go, an urgent personal note to self: Buy goggles. This one is a definite, definite must-have for my next trip to the beach. Whenever that is. Hopefully though, it will be soon. And many. :D

Neutrals

I'm quite pleased with today's outfit, never mind the fact that I was once again an hour late to work. I even took the bus already since I waited, I think, a good 20minutes for a cab and they were all nowhere to be found. Plus, there came this group of women a good 15minutes into my waiting who were also hailing cabs and I don't think I would've been in a very good mood if they managed to hail a cab before me. So I took the crowded bus with my big but trusty Nine West bag, on this somewhat rainy day (after several really sunny days), with white trousers on. Yes, you read that right - white trousers.

I found them in my closet this morning when I went to look for an alternative from my usual rotation of brown skinny jeans, black skinny jeans, rusted purple straight-cut jeans, and dark denim straight-cut jeans. It was refreshing to see white pants and I thought it has been a long time since I actually wore anything light. The questions were, would it fit me? Was it even mine? I couldn't remember. In my haste though, I just checked the size (2 -looks and feels positive) and then laid it out to wear.

Light on light was the key theme. Neutrals became the evolution. And so my complete outfit for the day - white Ann Taylor size 2 trousers, light beige v-neck sleeveless Forever 21 top, silver CLN ballet flats, Tawid sterling silver 1/2" ball earrings and my ever reliable faded purple cuff watch. My current cover-up of choice (a.k.a. the one currently residing in my bag to be worn during office hours and after office just in case) is a gray Dirty Jane edgily ruffled blazer jacket. Still in the neutrals theme.

Hair and makeup were pretty much kept simple as I was once again out of time - a messy ponytail and just Cover Girl's tinted moisturizer in Light to Medium. Hmm.. I think I did manage to swipe on TBS lip and cheek tint on my cheeks and Blistex Liptone with SPF 15 before finally heading out. But I've been using MAC lipglass in Pink Lemonade since I got to the office which admittedly is the only non-neutral in my entirety today. If I were given the choice though, I would've grabbed MAC lipglass in Spirited from my drawer.

I guess that about sums it up. I'll try to post with pictures but I don't think that will be happening anytime soon.
